So So Glos
Brooklyn's So So Glos consider all performance opportunities equal. If you caught the band a few months ago when it pulled double-duty one night at The Knitting Factory, you know that the bandmates exert as much bruised-heart playing on the main stage as they do closing out a five-band, all-ages rager at the downstairs Tap Bar.
Armed with a cache of songs that skillfully surveys all of Clashendom, The Glos is the rare group that can literally (and justifiably) command an audience—lead singer and bassist Alex Levine is prone to telling everyone to move toward the stage (“I know this is New York, but you don't have to pretend you're too cool”) and dance. The crowd always obliges.
With the punk quartet's EP Tourism / Terrorism about to make an ambitious ante-upping descent on our unsuspecting city, all are advised to catch the Bushwick boys before they embark on a month-plus trek across America. The extensive outing that will serve as their next step toward conquering the Glo(be). Heed this advice, lest we later have to say we told you So.
